Exporting Certificates

M-RETS supports exporting certificates* to Compatible Tracking Systems (CTS). CTSs currently approved for exporting are:

• Michigan Renewable Energy Certification System (MIRECS)
• North American Renewables Registry (NAR)
• North Carolina Renewable Energy Tracking System (NC-RETS)

*Exports from M-RETS to non-M-RETS registries carry a $0.020/REC fee.

Process to Export Certificates

1. To export certificates, click on 'Certificates' on the left hand side. Then select the certificates that you would like to export and select 'transfer' found in the top right corner seen below.

2. Input the number of certificates you'd like to export then select 'next'.

3. From the drop-down, select 'out of M-RETS platform (export).
   1. select the tracking system you'd like to export to
   2. name of the organization you are transferring to (in the other tracking system)
4. Once you have filled out the fields, select 'Review' on the right hand side.

5. Verify the information is correct and select 'transfer'.

Your export has now been submitted. M-RETS administrators will review and process the export before sending it to the appropriate tracking system. The export will remain in Pending status until the receiving organization (in the external, non-M-RETS tracking system) processes and accepts it.
